Nutrition Counseling
and you...

There is a very good explanation as to why all diets work for SOME people, but not all diets work for everyone. We are all unique and the nutrients that may bring health and good energy to one person could very well bring sickness and disease to someone else.

At Mind and Body Fitness Connections nutrition requirements are discussed in depth so that the right program can be created for each individual. However, before that program is created questionnaires are given to help identify what aspects of a person’s diet may need the most attention. Topics addressed include:

  • Importance of eating quality food
  • Food Allergies
  • Metabolic Typing
  • How to read ingredient labels
  • Importance of blood sugar levels
  • How food and blood sugar affects hormones
  • Good fats versus bad fats
  • Pro’s & con’s of calorie restriction

Why eat organic?

There is growing concern about the quality of our food and water. Currently there is more and more research being done on the difference between organic and commercially raised meat and produce. Studies are showing that organically raised crops have higher nutrient levels and lower toxicity levels than conventionally raised crops.

What is Metabolic Typing?

“It is the culmination of seventy years of pioneering efforts and interrelated discoveries by a whole series of remarkable medical researchers, including physicians, biochemists, dentists, physiologists, clinical nutritionists, and psychologists. Metabolic typing is a dynamic process that does far more than simply assign you to a broad, fixed category that roughly approximates your nutritional needs. It is much more precise and flexible than that.” – From William Wolcott’s book, The Metabolic Typing Diet.
