Calorie Restriction

It is true we shouldn’t over eat and that we should have reasonable portion sizes, but we should also be, careful not to make the mistake of just cutting calories. While you can certainly lose weight by doing this you are also cutting down on the amount of nutrients your body is getting.  It is better to eat whole foods such as meat, veggies and limited fruits, nuts and grains that have been cooked at home with quality oils whenever possible rather that eating out where the source of the food is questionable and is likely less nutrient dense.  When the body is lacking nutrients it will be more likely to crave less healthy foods.
